Blog 1: Life is but a dream until we author the theme!
Are you a vivid dreamer? Do you day dream? Is your imagination so creative that you’ve never seen the beauty or pictures inside your mind produced on television or film? If you can answer yes to any of these you may have a hidden talent to write. Over my ten year career as a writer, I’ve been through highs and lows and received all sorts of advice. It has been bitter sweet! I must say that the bitterest times produced some of my better writings. The sweet times provided me enough peace to produce above par work, but the most “exceptional pieces” were birthed out of me in travail. Discouraging? Well, it shouldn’t be because if I had not written one word it wouldn’t have changed my circumstances on bit. I think it might have been worse seeing that it was tremendous relief to see something beautiful come out of an ugly situation.
I challenge you to try writing! Don’t pick a genre if its time consuming just write what comes natural and your topics and style will define itself. Why write? Because if you study history or even law, you see the accuracy of record is vital to humanity. We have generations that have to interpret how life was on this planet. The few people that choose to write don’t do it for monetary gain. It’s not the most lucrative occupation. However, to write your own history, and to tell a tale whether its fiction or non-fiction, can allow the reader to get a broader perspective on life. It can add to the quality of life of those who choose to read your work and you can inspire many generations to come long after you have breathed your last breath. Every week I publish this blog and dedicate it to those who love to write. Some weeks I will bare my soul and some weeks I will offer advice. You can comment and bookmark this blog to follow-up weekly. I’ve built my authors network for years and I’ll be glad to meet new authors. This is not just for up and coming and new writers, but veteran writers are also welcome to share in the joys and pains of a writer’s life. Look for the blog to be updated Wednesday of every week unless the good Lord says otherwise.
